Children learn through hands-on experiences in a dynamic environment where every space serves a purpose. Throughout the day, they rotate through spaces designed to stimulate their holistic development: they develop motor skills and movement in La Jungla, explore their creativity in the Frida Kahlo room, strengthen their communication skills in Speakers’ Corner, and enjoy reading time in the cozy Abuelo space. Here, learning doesn’t happen by sitting still all the time, but by exploring, participating, and living each experience.
Fifty percent of the activities are conducted in English, integrating the language naturally into projects such as Speakers’ Corner, science activities with experiments, and daily routines. Through playful experiences and special days, such as an airport simulation, children develop their communication skills, curiosity, and confidence, while strengthening their motor skills and enjoying learning in an active, welcoming, and stimulating environment.
The role of the family in education is one of the pillars of our Educational Project. We encourage the involvement of families through participation in work groups, personal interviews, workshops and counseling and training sessions.
The spaces at Lakeside School are treated as an educational agent to promote, motivate and encourage the integral development at a cognitive, motor, social and emotional level. An environment designed for the little Lakesiders to develop their natural talents through play and interaction with their peers.
Lakeside School is recognized as an expert in Cooperative Learning by the prestigious University of Minnesota and the International Center for Cooperative Learning. Our goal is to make each Lakesider a stronger person through harmonious interaction with others. To this end, at Lakeside College we cooperate to learn and learn to cooperate.
A fundamental competence of the 21st century is the ability to think for oneself; to argue with one’s own criteria, as a means to be able to discern among the multitude of information that constantly reaches us. This ability begins to be developed in Kinderville from the very beginning of their education. To this end, at Lakeside, students from preschool onwards use tools in their classrooms to promote thinking such as Routines, Skills and Beacons.

The infant brain is, by necessity, very absorbent and elastic. Its growth implies the creation of fibers and neuronal networks that involve the development of synapses or junctions between neurons. These networks are the ones that, during our lifetime, provided us with the most sophisticated capacities of the human being. The growth and maturation of these networks is inversely proportional to age; therefore, the younger a child is, the greater the number of connections that occur in their learning. This equates to rapid and efficient learning; the opposite is true in adulthood.
This is why Lakeside opts for a specific program for the creation of these neural connections, in addition to all the educational actions and learning scenarios that make up their day-to-day life.
In the same way that we promote the knowledge of mathematics, languages or sciences in our Lakesiders from an early age, let us give special relevance to the education in values in favor of coexistence and social progress. Without these ethical principles it will be difficult for us to achieve the school’s vision of building a better world together.
The Kinderville by Lakeside Art Farm is a space where children’s hands and brains are active.
We start from the belief that every child has an amazing potential and a great desire to know and understand the world around him/her from different channels and new experiences, that is, as Malaguzzi says, encouraging Lakesiders to use their “hundred languages”.
At our Hacienda we organize different experiences, working with very diverse materials, in order to awaken curiosity, divergent thinking and facilitating multisensoriality.
As Dr. Glenn Doman argued, “the brain grows with use” and movement is essential for this. The renowned French pedagogue Bernad Aucouturier also insists on this idea, “the child needs movement to be able to think”.
This is why at Lakeside we understand that working on psychomotor skills at an early age is fundamental in order to facilitate the correct maturation of the nervous system and prepare our Lakesiders for later learning.
As the neurologist Francisco Mora says “you can only learn what you love”. In Kinderville by Lakeside all the proposal that our students work on, the attention and treatment they are given, the affection they receive at all times, revolves around this: to love, learn and generate that emotional platform that, as Roberto Aguado assures, is the only place from which you can learn: HOME (CASA in spanish).
